Watch For Dishwasher Leaks

One of the top insurance claims for water damage is leaking dishwashers. There are a few things you can do to monitor your dishwasher and reduce the risk of any major damage.

(1) Periodically look behind your dishwasher's kick plate.

(2) Keep your eyes peeled for any water under the kitchen sink for leaks from the dishwasher.

(3) Inspect your dishwasher's seal for any damage.

Small leaks from a dishwasher can go unnoticed for years because your kitchen flooring often prevents water from sneaking out where it is visible. A slow leak can rot your floor or cabinet, cause mold, or turn into a big leak.
