Why A Frost Free Hose Bib?

With freezing temperatures well underway just a friendly reminder to make sure that all of your exterior faucets and hose bibs have been turned off and there are no hoses, valves, or irrigation attached.

If your home is over 10 years old you may want to consider replacing your hose bibs with frost free ones to help prevent possible freezing in the future. These faucets are designed to stop the water flow inside the house instead of directly at the spigot so it won't freeze in the winter. Care must still be taken to remove any attachments before freezing temperatures, but the lines are far less likely to freeze with the water being stopped so far inside the warm house :)
